If you're an Amazon Alexa device owner, Alexa has a few tricks up her witch’s sleeve to enhance your Halloween experience.

If there's a storm headed your way and you suspect the power may go out, consider putting your Alexa-enabled device in "do not disturb" mode. To do this, simply say, "Alexa, do not disturb." If the power returns in the middle of the night, you won't be awakened when your device reboots and Alexa loudly announces, "HELLO!"

Do not disturb mode must be turned on individually for each Alexa-enabled device and you will still be able to issue commands to your device while in this mode.

If you're looking to communicate with someone via an Alexa-enabled device such as the Echo Dot or Echo Show and you haven't added them to your mobile phone's address book, you can manually add their contact information via the Alexa app.

Open the Alexa app on your mobile phone > Menu > Contacts > Tap 3 dots on upper right corner > Add Contacts.
